Dr Ward is a tutor with Aberdeen University and students are periodically attached to the Practice.

RGN RM , Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Sister Smith is trained in acute clinical care and prescribing. She is an independent health provider who can provide complete episodes of care for patients of any age and with a wide range of presenting problems and health care needs. This encompasses the provision of evidence-based, care for patients whose issues fall within: urgent/acute episodes, long term/chronic conditions, health promotions and public health.

Libby Philand's duties include Phlebotomy, Vaccinations (Seasonal), Warfarin Monitoring, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Blood Sugar Monitoring, ECG's, Weight Management and Ear Syringing.

Diana works in the administration team and sometimes carries out Healthcare Assistant duties in the Practice.

The administration team comprises part-time members of staff.  They provide administrative support to the clinical team and provide an efficient and helpful service to our patients.  The Practice Manager welcomes any comments on the day-to-day efficiency of the practice.

The following staff are not employed by the Practice but with whom we have close working relationships: 

• The Community Nursing Team
• The Ambulance Service 
• The Health Visitor – Alex Kirkpatrick
• The Midwifery Service which is based at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead. 

The following professionals also hold regular clinics in the Health Centre and referrals to them are made through the Doctors:

• Chiropodist
• Psychologist
• Psychiatric Nurses etc. 

Regular meetings are held between the doctors and the Community Psychiatric Team to co-ordinate care of those with mental health problems. 

The Welfare Rights Officer attends the Health Centre regularly and is available to discuss all aspects of Social Security and Health benefits and entitlements.  Appointments can be made with her via the Practice Receptionists. 

The McMillan Nurse is available to help patients with cancer and liaises with the GPs and Community Nurses to discuss patients under her care. 

Community Addictions – staff are available to help patients overcome addiction problems.  Appointment times can be arranged to suit patients.  Referrals can be arranged via GP or if preferred “self” referral.
