Information for Medical Students
Dr Spink is a tutor with Aberdeen University and students are therefore periodically attached to the Practice.
We are a small rural practice with 2 part time GPs.
Dr Carina Spink is a tutor with Aberdeen. She joined the practice in 2001, previously working as a GP on Tyneside.
She has an interest in holistic medicine and complementary therapies and has trained in Homeopathy.
The practice is in a purpose built Health Centre shared with the community nurses and Ambulance Paramedics.
Our students have use of their own room with internet access.
The village is small population around 1500.
The traditional industry is fishing but tourism is of increasing importance.
Accommodation is usually self-catering in the village or out at West Loch Shores.
Transport links: the Glasgow bus runs three times a day check www.citylink.co.uk for times and book in advance for cheaper fares.
There are ferry links close by to Arran , Islay (and on to Jura) , Gigha and the Cowal peninsula.
Mobile phone coverage for Vodafone is good but can be poor for other networks.
